OPENING NIGHT PARTY & ART EXHIBIT

Dave Yules - Acoustic Indie Rock Singer/Songwriter
In 2001, at the age of 15, Dave Yules held a guitar for the first time. Just three years later, after being inspired by Mike Kinsella and Death Cab for Cutie, he began producing recordings of his original songs in his home studio. When the time came to go to college, he brought his studio with him. Throughout his college career he continued to write, perform, and produce (himself and others), though after only three semesters he decided to drop out and follow his creative aspirations in Boston, MA. Immediately upon his arrival, he teamed up with The Bean Music (now Elephant Music Group) who provided a professional foundation for his success. In 2009, after years of continued focus, determination, passion, and inspiration from the likes of Damien Rice and Ray LaMontagne, he released his debut album, the Mind In Line EP.

The Mind In Line EP consists of four full band tracks and two solo tracks, and constitutes some of Dave Yules’ best works to date. Also during 2009, Dave released two short films, both of which he wrote, produced, directed, and acted in. The Gateway Citation, his first action/comedy short, has received hundreds of views on YouTube. Inconsideration, a romantic comedy, has achieved even greater critical success. Following his experience in these two films, he decided it was time to buckle down and write a feature. As of this writing, the first draft has been completed and is being shopped around. It’s apparent that 2010 has quite a bit in store for Dave Yules, just as Dave Yules has quite a bit in store for the world. Look for his brand new single, Commercial, as well as his next short film; both of which will be released this summer. www.myspace.com/daveyules

LIMELIGHT MEMBERS & VIP PARTY
Thursday, April 8, 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Steven Palumbo
Lush…resonant…romantic.  The words apply not only to the lyrics of the songs he sings, but also to the qualities of Steven Palumbo’s elegant voice. The sheer love of music and performing comes through in every note he sings. His powerful voice and personal charm play well to fans throughout New England and indeed all along the East Coast. His show is well suited to smaller venues where audiences can get close and really succumb to the serenade.  To Steven, it’s all about being true to the music, to the intent of the song and to reaching the hearts of audience members.

In his live performances, Steven warmly embraces swing classics made timeless by the great romantic American balladeers.  He performs the music of Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, Bobby Darin and Mel Torme, among others.  He also includes standards from such ‘new classics’ as Harry Connick, Jr. and Andrea Bocelli. A natural entertainer, Palumbo began singing during his childhood in Providence, Rhode Island. He studied voice and grew up loving all kinds of music.  In fact, he was spotlighted early on when selected for the prestigious Barrington Boys Choir. Through that opportunity, he appeared in the operas Carmen and Tosca at the Providence Performing Arts Center and roles in musical theatre followed. Though he later graduated from Ithaca College in New York with a degree in special education, Palumbo never lost his ease onstage.  A teacher by day, he sings professionally by night, and audiences applaud this doubly-talented individual.  http://www.stevenpalumbo.com
