April 2012 SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival.






SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival accepts online entries submitted via Withoutabox.com. Withoutabox offers simple, high-quality online film submissions, extended deadlines, and online press kits. Filmmakers with an upgraded project on Withoutabox receive discounts on their entry fees.

95% of all selected films come directly from paid film submissions.  The small number of invited films are not eligible for any awards.

The SENE Film, Music & Arts Festival is a member of the Universal Film & Festival Organisation and has adopted their ethical code of conduct:

The Ethical Code of Conduct

No 1: Film Festival organizers will operate a transparent and ethical selection process and publish details of the selection process and the names of the Jury/selection committee (publication can be after a festival concludes)

- SENE Festival programmers Phil Capobres and Don Farias both review every film submission.  In addition, a documentary committee reviews documentaries and a feature film committee reviews features.  Short films are also reviewed by a group of 20-30 people on special short film screening/reviewing nights.  Films are scored and ranked within each category.  Films with the highest scores are selected.

No 2: Film festivals organizers will provide full contact details for the festival offices including address and telephone numbers and the names of the festival directors and or committee

No 3: Film Festivals will publish a company registration number or charity registration number and must be clearly visible on the festivals website

No 4: Film festival organizers will not under any circumstances share any personal or financial data belonging to any filmmakers who submitted their films to their festivals with any third parties

No 5: Film Festivals will publish a year by year history of festival winners and films officially selected

No 6: Film festival organizers, committee and or jury will not show or demonstrate any favoritism to any film submitted to the festival or attempt to influence other members of the jury or selection committee

No 7: Film Festivals must declare the number of films sought out and or invited by the festival organizers to participate in the festival prior to and before the general call for submissions is sent out.
-  In 2011, SENE accepted 95% of their films directly from paid submissions. The small number of films invited to screen were not eligible for any award.

No 8: Film Festivals will provide the names of the selection committee and or jury members who viewed the submitted film screeners to the festival (this can be after the festival has concluded)

No 9: Film festival organizers will screen or view at least 5 minutes of submitted films
- SENE views All Short films in their entirety
- SENE views Most Feature films in their entirety (at least 45 minutes of each feature film is viewed)

No 10: Festival organizers must declare any interest they have in any film submitted to or invited to participate in the festival.
